Hello Everyone,

Well, I haven't melted yet. It has been around 116 durning the day here with low's of 90 at night. Since I'm out on the road my supplies are limited. The orig. ideal I had for my entry was to mount the Mermaid w/cat on acetate and stamp a school of fish on the card cover. But could not find any at Michale's. I haven't managed to make it to any of the shops down in San Diego. That's a two hour drive from were we are in El Centro. So this is what I came up with. Also I tried to do a blue wash over the mermaid to give her a in the water look. But not happy with the result. Well, I had better get to the details of my entry. Thank you for visiting.

First Thank You all for all the kind comments that you left for my Bluebird entry last week. And Savannah "Puppy" said to Thank You .It's a omen, I just finished this card in fact it is drying. When I started to check my challenge list. And here's your challenge. It couldn't be a better fit. So maybe Mr. Rndom # guy will pick this one. Again I have lots of pictures for this week's entry. As you will soon see if there's a dog in a stamp/digi I will try and find a way to convert it into my Savannah. Even if that means coloring in her face on the wronge side. S2G Challenge #69 Twist Notebook Paper

Hello Everyone,

Happy Friday the 13th. hope this finds all doing well. As promissed I've used S2G images for this week's challenge. Boy have I used them. This is Collin & he goes back to school on the 17th. He loves school & is a bit of a bookworm. So sometimes it's kind of hard to find a digi or stamp that really fits him. Ethan & Stella as you have seen have toooooo many that fit them. Any way my Mom's Birthday is in a few weeks & I had cards made for her from Ethan & Stella but having the hardest time with one from Collin. All the "Bookworm" digis or stamps have the child wearing glasses so that was not a fit for Collin. So while the orig. card I was working on for this challenge was to be for Collin on his first day at a new school.

I had the inside done with a note wishing him good luck. Then while using his school picture from last year for lining up placement for photo corners for the picture that I am sure that my Mom will get of him either getting on or off the buss. The light came on that this would make the perfect Birthday card from him to my Mom. So I had to do a little rework on the inside.

Also I have to give a BIG Thank You to Miss. Georgia of the S2G DT. The sample card she did for this week's challenge gave me the ideal for this card. So now that I have yet again managed to produce a small novel I will get to the details. Thank You for visiting. Have a good Friday the 13th. & enjoy your weekend!

Hope this finds all doing well. I was inspired by a Card that Karen B.over at The Bald Dragonfly http://thebalddragonfly.blogspot.com/2010/08/bluebirds.html

made. You have to go check her's out.

For mine: You have heard of Pheasant under Glass? Well, I have Bluebird under acetate. I think that I have found a way to use acetate that doesn't make me want to set it on fire.

Unlike Karen B. I used distressing ink to color my Bluebird before I used the Glimmer Mist.

It was a hard call not to use the back of my image for this one. I just could not get the red/orange color right on the front. But the back was just the color I was looking for. I thought about doing a window or just make the front of the card acetate. But I did not have a big enough sheet for that.

But I think that it turned out quite nice. Well, I had better get to the details. Thank You for visiting.

S2G Challenge #68 Back To School

Hello Everyone,

So now you would think that after being a guest designer that my first card back into the challenges would have a S2G stamp. And normaly it would (you can hear the but coming, can't you?)

When I got home from San Diego I came bearing gifts from Uncle Nick for the little ones. While Ethan & I were going over his bag he stoped & in a small little voice he said"Can you make Uncle Nick a card that goes in a envelope & Thank him for my bag?" That just melted my heart!!!! This coming from a 4yr. old who hadn't even finished checking out his gift!

This is what Ethan decitated to me!

Ethan & Stella needed help with their names,but Collin did his. This is the only part that the other 2 had in the card.

So Thanks to S2G Challenges being open (That's A Big Thank You Ladies!) This seemed to be the perfect chance to show off what my little helper & I came up with. We have the color red in there & as for the Back To School, I'm sure Collin will have to take his bag at least 1 time with him. The other 2 aren't ready for school yet.

I felt kind of bad about sharing Ethan's card with the other two since he came up with it all on his own but he was ok with it.

Thank goodness since I had to do it Now!!!! Auntie Bev!!! That I didn't have to make one for each of them to send.

I emailed it to Uncle Nick since I'm headed back to San Diego in a couple of days.

(That's a secreat because it was to be put into a envelope & mailed. ) But I will give it to him when I get there. Sorry about the long post. But it was such a sweet story to go along with the making of the card. I couldn't help it.

Sentimental Sunday #14 Switch It Up

Hello,

This challenge is about trying something new. Well, this one has alot of something new.

I did the paper by using Tim Holtz distressing inks & a spounge. Then there's the acetate. I've never had much luck with using acetate in this way. And not sure that I will again. I think the first thing I did wrong was load my stamp " Pineapple from Impression Obsession" with too much ink & then took too long to stamp. When I put the stamp to the acetate it stuck. Then I couldn't get any color to stay. So I restamped the image on my Copic's paper painted with Distressing ink, cut that out & glued to the back of the acetate. But even with all that I'm ok with how it turned out. You can kind of see the green.

I kind of like the ink spots too. The border punch is one of Martha Stewarts. I think that covers every thing. Thank You for stopping by & for considering my entry.

Hi, everyone. I just got back to a real computer system. It took over a hour at Mom & Dad's to just get the Blog page to come up. When I was cutting out the image so it would meet the no larger than 3in. for the mini card I fell for the back of my colored image. Maybe it's because I came from a watercoloring back ground. Day 2 of Amy's San Diego Adventure

Hi Everyone

Well, the weather in sunny San Diego isn't ! So when hubby got in from work we went shopping on the way to the casino. Shopping is my fun & the 3 card poker is hubby's.

So I picked up a few things that I needed.

This is my 2nd haul from hubby's winnings. Like I said the casino is hubby's thing. I go over to the Food Court & find a table & draw or color while he's at the table. I go check in & get

the $25.00 & up chips from him & cash them in & then take off again. Last night this lady at the table blamed me for the table going cold. So I kind of got my nose out of joint. I left & went to the gift shop & took my revenge.

Like the braclet? I did get a good deal on it. it started out at $300.00 and something but it was 70% off. I went back to the table & the lady who complained about me was gone & hubby had a stack of $100.00 chips in front of him. So you know I couldn't get my hands on them fast enough & get to the cashiers cage with them. I did let him keep one. He had a bunch of the $5.00 chips already. But the next time I went back to the table everyone who had been there including hubby had left. So I tracked him down over in the slots area. Pretty soon after I found him we left for home. After all we had been there for 5hrs. And Amy's & my fun meter was peged out. Not sure what we have planned for today. The weather is overcast & I do have some cards that I need to get done if I'm going to make challenge cut off times. Maybe I will take Amy out some place nice for a bite to eat.

Well, made it to San Diego last night. And for those of you who knew that I was on my way to San Dieg I was not on the aircraft that hit rough air in Denver. The card you see is one that I bought from Amy's Card Shop http://www.1000sheetscardshop.blogspot.com/

Amy was wishing that she could make the trip to San Daigo. So since the real Amy couldn't make it. I thought that I would bring Bathing Amy"the name I gave my card" so throughout the week I will be posting pictures of Amy on her San Diego trip. She had to pack light so she wiil not be changing outfits. I had to make room for my card making supplies. Hubby is at work durning the day so I have to have something to do at the hotel. SS No Time #148 / Mo's #40 Masculine

Hello !

I think that Mo must have my phone bugged. As you can see we have our own little "Jack -n- The Beans" in the family. This is Ethan our 4yr old. He didn't trade a cow to get his magic beans. He just got my Dad's "Grandpaw's" bean seeds & corn. He planted them in my Mom's flower bed. Since the corn was needed it got removed from the flower bed & they got most of the beans. But as you can see not all. My Mom had just got finished telling me the story when I found this over at Mo's. So I called Mom & had her take a picture of Ethan & his beans. Mom has a Birthday in Aug. so I decided to do this as her Birthday card from Ethan. I know!!! Mo's Challenge is for a Masculine card & I'm using it for Mom. But it just seemed to be the right thing. She will get a girly card from me. Not that I have told you a short story I will get on with the details of my entry.

Requirements:

1. Participate for a term of 6 months. July 2010 - December 2010.

3. MUST Post all S2G cards/projects to online galleries ( SCS, SNR, etc) for great exposure.

4. Leave “a little Love” for the S2G fans that play each week in our Challenge.

5. Required to make a Minimum of 1 card/project weekly.

Since I always get stuck making bows for everyone I wanted to make it so the bow did not have to be untied to open card. So I used Picture corners to hold the image that then holds the card closed. You just slip one side of the image out of the corners to open.

Frosted Designs Color Challenge

Hi Everyone

Hope this finds all doing well & dry.

I was begining to think that I was going to need a boat. Our pound was inching it's way towards the house. But this was as close as it got. The rain has stop & the pound is going back into it's banks. We were the lucky ones. Now for the challenge from Frosted Designs.

It is a color challenge of Brown, Aqua & Lime Green. Since I needed a card for Dad's Birthday & had decided on this image from Mo's the colors in the challenge seemed like they would work. You will be seeing this image again for hubby a card. The image was not as hard to do as I thought it was going to be. Trying to find the right paper to go with the color combo was harder. Yea!!!!! I'm soooo happy about this challenge!!!! I just finished this for our baby boy's 4th. birthday!!! We are calling this one Caption Ethan!!! Just so not to confuse anyone. Ethan is one of my 4 nephews. I only have children with fur. Any way I just finished this one today & didn't know when I would get to show it off. It seems that all the challenges right now are Girlie or Flowers. It seems like I'm in line with the DT about Mo's images for this challenge. Also yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby to get the schull & swords paper. Sorry Elaine but I couldn't wait. I've got to get this in the mail tomorrow. I love Elaine's stuff so when I can I do try and order from her. While I was there I found a new toy. Glossy accents. I love this stuff. Rmember I'm new to the cardmaking. I'm afraid I'm going to be like I was when I discovered Liquid applique. I went a little crazy with it. And I'm doing it again with the glossy accents.

Sundays w/Crissy #2 Dots /PTE #64 Aqua/Town Scrapper Pt.2 BH Girlie Challenge

Hi Everyone

Hope this finds all doing well. Still fighting a migraine. This little cutie didn't help any. I made a couple of Rookie mistake with her. I had everything layed out to put the card together and then got distracted & some of my elements got seprated. Did not realize that I left the Dots out till I started to input the challenges. That wasn't too much of a biggy. However the big mistake was when I got cocky after coloring the body. I have been afraid of using black. When I first started card making it was Halloween so black was a big factor. Well, I didn't like how my black turned out. The reason for this is that I only had one shade to work with. Kind of hard to get more than a flat black effect when your only using one marker. Well, I decided that since I now had a few more marks to try black again. Well, her face gave me a BIG Reality Check!!!!!!! I lost controll of the color. At one point all I had was a BIG Black Spot!!! Since I'm working with limited resources right now. I had no choice but to at least try and see if I could save this one. After HOURS and I do mean HOURS of working with it I was able to save her. She was to be my Niece's Mothers Day card from her two boys. But I put sooooo much into this one I don't think that I can let her go. You know, I have got to stop that. I can't seem to let them go. Well, it is Derby week here in Kentucky this week. And that means HATS. I think that is what drew me to this one. I've renamed her Oswalds Goes to the Derby.

Well, since it looks like I am going to have to make my niece another card I had better get to the details of my entry. Thank you for considering my entry! Have a good rest of the week!!

This is my first time entering one of your challenges. I kept seeing your blinkie on some of the Blogs that I have visited. But I have not been doing the card making thing that long. So getting entries done by cutoff date takes me a little longer. So I've slowley adding more challenges. And when I saw what this weeks challeng was Chocolate & Teal it seemed like a perfect fit for this little cutie. I fell in Love with Her when I saw her done by Melanie of http://paperblessingsbymelanie.blogspot.com/ . The Peacock Feathers and one of the sentiments that comes with the Stamp reminded me of a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo that my husband & I took when he was home on leave. We had a encounter with a Don Juan Peacock . Let's put it this way the strangest things can scare a big bad Marine. So now when ever my husband is starting to tell a story that I don't want told all I have to say is PEACOCK. That stops him dead in his tracks. Ok, I had better get to my entry.

The roll on glitter pen accents the feathers but does not show up unless you get it in just the right light

When I saw her over at Paperblessing's I had to have her for my husband. It's a reminder of a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo and a Don Juan Peacock that we encountered. I learned more about Peackock feathers than I wanted when I went on line looking for a picture of them. For some reason I was hellbent on having the feathers look as much like real Peacock feathers as possible. I was not sure about this challenge. I just love your new April in Paris collection!!!! But I'm starting to have a love / hate relationship with them. That is when it comes to putting a card together. The images turn out soooo nice that it's hard to put anything else on the card with them. Because so far the ones I have done can stand alone. And adding extras that don't take away from the image is kind of challenging. But I am new to the card making so maybe that has more to do with it than anything. I collect LightHouses and I have two that look a lot like this one. It kind of reminds me of

Dr. Suse. I wound up doing two of these. I couldn't part with the first one so I had to make another. Since the first one was for a birthday card for one of my nephew's Birthday in May. I know some may be wondering about that. I have 3 nephews with Birthdays in May. The twins and then our baby boy who will turn 4. His card is next. I think that I will do the new Mo's Pirates. After seeing what Lori did with it. I got to see her newest creations in person last night. They were sooo cute. We had a good time even if I had to cut my visit short due to a migraine. When I took the KKS Blog Hop the other day and saw Dexter. I knew that my search for one of my nephew's Birthday card was over. I used this weeks CPS challenge sketch to make this one. There was one part of the sketch that gave me just a bit of trouble. The long part that goes behind . I tried all kinds of paper & ribbon but nothing seemed to work. Then I remembered I had this stuff that I used for filler in baskets & flower arrangments. And I think that it works for this element of their sketch. Bonjour Chere!!!

This April in Paris champaign has got me channeling my French ancestors. I'm a Hines 57 so I hope I never channel them all at the same time. What a party that would be.

This is only my 2nd time entering your challenges. And I'm not sure how you all feel about altering images. But I just couldn't help myself with this one. First there was the Be'ret (I've only knitted a bazillion of them), then when I read the sentiment I couldn't help myself. I had to give her my hair. She already had my love for the cafe',sunglass & Be'ret. Then of course the girls couldn't go for a espresso without some Bling.

I have been working on this little cutie for a week now. I reverted back to my painting & scrapbooking days when I started. As you can see my first go turned out a little large for a card. I was sure that I would never be able to do my coloring again on a smaller scale. But without putting as much detail into the skirt I think that the sm. has turned out as nice as her big sister. And the bee, well, I had to totally change.

I'm waiting on my order from Quixotic Paperie to arrive to add either the Bee or Tea Pot charm to the ribbon. But I was afraid if I waited I might forget to enter her. I hope you will like the almost finished product as much as I do.

Hope this finds all doing well. I loved the new line April In Paris. It was fun to see what the DT came up with for the new line. Can't wait to get more of this line. I've got my fingers cross for a chance at the Grand Prize Give Away. But I do not seem to have much luck with that Random Number Guy. Enough of that . Hi Everyone!

Hope all is going well with you all. Yea!!! that these two challenges came out at the same time. I had a wedding card that I had to do for a family wedding in May. I had the art work done all but the glamour dusting. Had to wait for that to come in the mail. The colors I used are the wedding colors.

I called my Aunt to find out what color to do the hair for the groom. Find out that he shaves his head because he is going bald. So I had to alter the image some. Just wish that I would have known to do it from the start and not the last thing that I had to do. I would have just started over but I loved how his suite had turned out. I didn't trust being able to get this effect a secound time. I colored it with Copics then dusted with chalk. I don't think you can tell from the picture. Ok, I know you all are busy so I will get on with my entry.

Now you can't get too much more nature than this. A man in tall grass with a fishingpole & a 5 o'clock shadow.

Isn't He cute? I have a bunch of fishers in the family, so he will be used alot. I had a request for a fishing card for my nephew-n-law's up coming birthday. I couldn't find any thing I liked any where. Then I found this little guy in the Scrap & Stamp Just Cards,Volum 16 Winter 2010.

Now I need to find one for the women in the family. Because we can give the guys a run for their money when it comes to fishing. But the taking off the hook thing & cleaning them,

Happy Good Friday to All

As promissed in my last WFK challenge I'm using a WFK image in this one. This is a card done for my neice-in-law's Birthday that is in a couple of days. Last Challenge I used Hubby's Easter care package. Yea!!!!! He called early this morning & had received his care package. So the Easter Bunny came through.

When I first saw this little cutie I knew it would not be long before she would be moving in. The first thing that came to mind was how she looked like our babygirl Stella. My neice of a whole 3 1/2. So Birthday Ivy will be used again in July for Stella's Birthday card. If not before. She might make it into a Mothers Day card for Stella's Mom, Becky.

Hi!!!! I just got back from the Hop!!!! Wish that I had seen some of the cards before I did mine. But I was kind of stuck with doing this card in the colors I used since these are the Birthday Girls colors. Thanks DT & Guest for some ideals for next time I use this image.

Hope this finds all doing well. First let me start by Saying SORRY I'm not using one of your images. Next time promiss. But, Yea!!!!! I get to show off Nick's Easter Card(Hubby's) & Easter Basket that I'm sending him. Ladies if your looking for a little SOMEN, SOMEN for your Special Someone!!!

I know your looking at the picture thinking "BJ's Husband has been gone way tooooo Long if she thinks this is SOMEN SOMEN. But Wait just a min. Remember you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Ok, Back to My Entry

My husband & I have a story about Daffodills. When we first were together. He almost gave me whiplash when he stoped in the middle of the road out in the middle of no where, jumps out of the car & takes off in this field. So, I'm thinking "Boy he must realy have to go" but that wasn't it. Here he comes back to the car with a handfull of Daffodills. So when the daffodill bunny came out I had to do his card using it. Then since he is overseas I had to put together a Easter Basket Care Package. Complete with home made cookies.

This is my first Gate Fold card also.
